Snips and Snails…

Here’s some things I’ve figured out, now that I’m five months old: Snails Snails hide under the plant pots and containers on the patio They can be dislodged by nudging them until they drop off The thin shells of small snails break easily with a swift crunch Tiny snails are the juiciest and much more fun to toss around The yucky trail big snails…

Local Delicacies

Just before bedtime, when the swallows come home to sing their evening chorus in the big pine tree nearby, that’s the time the snails come out. I love snails. They  move really fast considering they don’t have any legs and just kind of slither their way across the patio, up the walls and into the plants. When I nudge them they freeze up so…

Every day – something new!

Already I’ve had my first bath, my microchip fitted and – I’ve already mastered getting up and down the stairs, and the sofa! Admittedly I need the step to get up and down the sofa but it works a treat. That’s opened up a whole new world in the house; unless they close the doors there’s nowhere I can’t get to and nothing to…

Watch Out World, Here Comes Harvest!

Today was amazing! I love going in the car. I can tell beforehand when we’re going somewhere – the boots, the keys, the camera and a general ‘we’re going somewhere’ feeling all over the house – then we’re off! On the way, Babs said this was a Tradition and I was following on from Sky, Poppy, Soapie, Fernie, Verty and Chester, by going to…

the first night

What a fright I had on the first night here! I was so pooped I couldn’t keep my eyes open, so I burrowed under the comfiest pillow ever on the massive-est bed I ever saw and slept whilst they watched flashing pictures and there was music and lots of voices. Next thing I know, I’m in my own bed in the room nearby where…

My new pack

My new pack is Babs, Paco and me, and we’re a real team. Paco’s mum, Marite, and her friend Pepita paid a visit to meet me when I got settled in a bit. They both had that flowery-cleany smell that reminded me of one of the plants in the garden, the one with blue flowers. I could tell they had been really looking forward…

Where have my buddies gone?

Where have my buddies and siblings gone? Where’s the furry bed smelling of wee, poo and flowery-cleany-thing gone? The big pen we lived in? And that big shiny bowl I had to run over to fast so I didn’t end up hungry? Fatty Arbuckle always got in there first, leaving Blind-ey (more about him later), Betsy and me to muscle in. Meanwhile, little Pepperpot…

Suddenly, Everything’s Different…

In this new place, all the smells, the scary sounds, the objects are all so strange and exciting. Doorways lead to dark shadowy places. The big step goes up onto the sunny patio, but to get there, I have to negotiate a tricky ledge that’s even higher than me. I’m starting getting the hang of it though:  with a jump, straddle, hitch and heave…
